| Current Agenda | Information | Members |
The Utah Air Conservation Act ( Utah Code 19-2-104) empowers the Utah Air Quality Board to enact rules pertaining to Air Quality activities and develop State Implementation Plans to attain and maintain National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). Because of this statutory authority, the Board is the primary air quality policy maker for the State of Utah. DAQ staff support the Board in this responsibility. The Utah Air Conservation Act (Utah Code 19-2-103) also requires that the Board members be knowledgeable of air pollution matters and represent specific interests, professions, and industries. Board members are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the senate. A request to place an item on the Air Quality Board agenda should be directed to Bryce Bird, Executive Secretary of the Air Quality Board, at bbird@utah.gov or at (801) 536-4015.
