Designated Facilities
Federal rules require that states prepare plans to reduce emissions from existing sources when New Source Performance Standards are issued for similar of sources of air pollution. The plans display how the existing sources will come into compliance, and assist the sources in understanding the requirements.
The four plans available now apply to:
- Hospital, Medical, Infectious Waste Incinerators
- Mercury Emissions at Coal-fired Electric Generating Units
- Municipal Solid Waste Landfills
- Small Municipal Waste Combustion Units
