PM2.5 SIP Development: Meetings
Upcoming Meetings
No meetings are scheduled at this time. The next meetings are anticipated to take place in late summer 2012. More information will be posted as it is available.
Past Meetings
The third round of meetings has successfully concluded. The documents and information from those meetings is posted below.
The second round of stakeholder meetings went very well and concluded the week of December 12th. Several important takeaways were offered, specifically that mobile emissions are anticipated to become a smaller piece of the PM2.5 problem in model years 2014, 2019 and beyond; that the impact of emissions from large cities remains a problem for the rural areas they share nonattainment with; that the allowable "gaps" in point source emissions requires specific attention; and that we have achieved a degree of success in workgroup generated strategies that result in cleaner air.
Workgroup participation has been instrumental in helping DAQ refine its information and process. Excellent emissions reductions strategies were offered by the group and there is reason to be optimistic that we will meet the standard. DAQ's fundamentals for the SIP development remain the same: do what is right for public health, develop an approvable SIP, offer a transparent and inclusive public process, and strive for consensus and the best possible outcome.
Workgroup members received the following information during the first round of meetings. The list below contains a supplemental RACT/RACM presentation and Area Source Emissions Inventory Calculation that were not included as part of the initial materials.
